What is partial order fill in forex?
Partial order fill occurs when only part of a trader’s requested order is executed due to insufficient liquidity at the desired price. For example, if a trader places a 5-lot order but only 3 lots are available at that price, the system fills 3 lots and leaves 2 unfilled. This is common in ECN environments where real market liquidity is visible. Partial fills are not necessarily negative—they reflect true market conditions. Traders seeking full execution can use market orders, but those who want specific prices must accept the risk of partial fills.
