The regulatory level is relatively loose
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Seychelles is the local official financial regulatory agency, and licensed financial companies must comply with the relevant regulations issued by the FSA. However, compared with major European and American regulators (such as FCA, ASIC, CySEC, etc.), FSA regulatory standards are relatively loose, and the compliance thresholds for capital requirements, customer protection, and fund isolation are relatively low.
Non-resident business only
The foreign exchange/securities and other financial business licenses issued by the FSA are mainly for the international market. It is prohibited to conduct related business in Seychelles, and the compliance requirements are mainly based on "offshore finance".
Investment risks are borne by the investor
Although companies with FSA licenses are legally qualified to operate, investors still need to pay attention to fund security, transaction transparency and the actual difficulty of subsequent dispute resolution when working with such institutions.
Be wary of fake and cloned companies
There are some platforms in the market that impersonate or forge FSA regulatory information. Before investing, you should verify the company’s true license information through the FSA official website and be wary of cloned websites and false authorization certificates.
Limited channels for rights protection and complaints
Compared with other regulators such as FCA and ASIC, FSA has limited response capabilities for investor fund tracing and dispute resolution. Once a dispute or loss occurs, cross-border rights protection is more difficult.
The Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent government agency responsible for the regulation and development of the non-bank financial services industry in the Republic of Seychelles. The FSA was established in 2014 under the Financial Services Authority Act 2013 and was formerly known as the Seychelles International Business Authority (SIBA).
