What is a requote in forex and why does it happen?
A requote occurs when a broker cannot execute a trade at the requested price and offers a new price instead. This usually happens during high volatility when market prices change faster than the broker’s system can process the order. Market maker brokers are more prone to requotes because they internalize orders, while ECN/STP brokers generally avoid them. Requotes can frustrate traders, especially scalpers, because they cause missed opportunities or worse entry prices. To minimize requotes, traders should use brokers with fast execution, trade during liquid sessions, and avoid placing market orders during major news events.
