What is the difference between ECN and STP accounts?

ECN (Electronic Communication Network) accounts connect traders directly to liquidity providers such as banks and other market participants. Orders are matched with the best available bid and ask in the network, often resulting in lower spreads but with an added commission per trade. ECN accounts provide high transparency and are suitable for experienced traders who want raw market pricing.
