What is the difference between licensed agents and real license holders?

Some brokers claim regulation by presenting themselves as “agents” of a licensed company. In reality, only the company officially listed on the regulator’s register is authorized to offer services. Licensed agents may not have direct accountability to regulators, which creates risks for traders. Real license holders are directly responsible for compliance, capital requirements, and client fund protection. To distinguish them, traders should check whether the company they are dealing with is named in the regulator’s official register, not just an affiliate or marketing agent. Choosing to trade only with real license holders reduces the risk of fraud.
