What is the difference between ECN, STP, and DMA brokers?

CN (Electronic Communication Network) brokers connect traders directly with liquidity providers, offering raw spreads with commissions. STP (Straight Through Processing) brokers route orders automatically to liquidity providers, often with marked-up spreads. DMA (Direct Market Access) brokers give traders direct access to market order books, allowing more control over execution. ECN provides transparency and low spreads but requires commissions. STP is beginner-friendly and simple to use. DMA offers professional-level execution but is less common in retail forex. Understanding these models helps traders choose brokers that match their strategies and trading styles.
