FSA Japan vs ASIC: Which regulator is better?
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) and Australia’s ASIC are both respected regulators, but they have differences. The FSA is very strict with leverage, limiting retail clients to around 1:25, and enforces strong investor protection laws. ASIC is also strict, with leverage caps at 1:30, mandatory segregated accounts, and transparency requirements. The FSA has a smaller number of licensed forex brokers due to its restrictions, while ASIC regulates many international firms. Both are Tier-1 regulators, but the FSA is considered stricter, while ASIC offers a balance of protection and wider broker availability. Either regulator provides high trustworthiness compared to offshore authorities.
