What is an IEO and how is it different from ICO?
An Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) is similar to an ICO but conducted through a cryptocurrency exchange. Investors purchase tokens directly via a trusted exchange, which screens projects before listing. This adds a layer of security and credibility compared to ICOs, where anyone can launch a token. IEOs benefit from the exchange’s reputation and user base, making fundraising more efficient. However, risks remain, as exchanges may still host low-quality projects, and tokens can lose value after launch. The main difference is that IEOs provide a more regulated environment, but investors should still conduct due diligence before participating.
