Japan FSA vs ASIC leverage rules comparison

The Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) restricts leverage to around 1:25 for retail traders, prioritizing investor protection. ASIC in Australia also limits leverage for major forex pairs to 1:30 under its 2021 reforms. Both regulators require segregated accounts, client fund protection, and strong compliance. The FSA is stricter, which has led to fewer brokers in Japan compared to Australia, where many global brokers are based. For safety, both regulators are Tier-1, but Japanese traders experience tighter restrictions. ASIC offers more broker diversity, while FSA provides an extremely conservative trading environment.
