Is MAS regulation strict?

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is considered a Tier-1 regulator with very strict rules. MAS-regulated brokers must maintain high capital reserves, submit to regular audits, and keep client funds in segregated accounts. Leverage is restricted to safe levels, and marketing practices are carefully monitored. MAS also collaborates internationally to uphold standards across borders. Because of its strict entry requirements, only a small number of forex brokers are licensed in Singapore, but those that are provide a very high level of safety. Verifying a license can be done through the MAS Financial Institutions Directory.
