Is account upgrade requirement a scam?

Some brokers claim that clients must “upgrade accounts” to release withdrawals or access profits. This usually requires additional deposits and is a classic scam tactic. Regulated brokers never demand upgrades for withdrawals. Account types may exist legitimately (such as standard or ECN accounts), but upgrades are optional and not linked to fund access. If a broker insists on account upgrades as a condition for receiving profits, it is almost certainly fraudulent. Traders should refuse and report the company to regulators. Real brokers do not link withdrawals to artificial upgrade requirements.
