What is a non-custodial wallet and why use it?
A non-custodial wallet is a crypto wallet where the user, not a third party, controls the private keys. This means you have full ownership of your funds and are not dependent on exchanges or custodians. Examples include MetaMask, Trust Wallet, and hardware wallets like Ledger. The main advantage is security and independence—no one can freeze or seize your assets. However, it also comes with responsibility: if you lose your private key or seed phrase, your funds are irretrievable. Non-custodial wallets are ideal for users who value privacy, control, and self-sovereignty in managing their crypto assets.
