What is BMA regulation in Bermuda?
The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) oversees banks, insurers, and investment firms, including forex brokers. Brokers licensed by the BMA must meet capital requirements, segregate client funds, and comply with anti-money laundering (AML) standards. The BMA has also developed frameworks for digital assets, making Bermuda a hub for fintech innovation. While BMA regulation is more credible than light offshore regulators, it is not as strict as FCA or ASIC. For traders, choosing a BMA-licensed broker provides moderate investor protection, but ideally, it should be paired with a Tier-1 license for stronger security.
